Why Link-First Matters
Traditional file sharing: upload files, wait, get link, share. You can’t tell anyone where the files will be until they’re done uploading.

Top of every page shows your unique link and a copy button. One click to copy.
Storage Indicator
Shows how much space you’re using. Free accounts get 100MB, Pro gets 10GB.
Drop Zone
The entire page accepts files. Drag from your computer or click to browse. Folders work too - drop a folder to upload everything inside.
File Gallery
Uploaded files appear with thumbnails, names, and sizes. Each has its own download button. “Download All” grabs everything as a ZIP.

Managing Storage
Free accounts have 100MB shared across all links. When you’re running low:
- Wait for expiration: Old links free up space after 7 days
- Upgrade to Pro: 10GB gives you room for real projects
- Create new links: Once old ones expire, start fresh
Pro accounts can also delete individual files without waiting for expiration.
Link Settings (Pro)
Pro users can customize each link:
Expiration: Set a specific date or “forever”
Visibility:
- Public: Appears in your My Links dashboard
- Private: Only accessible via direct link
Collaboration:
- On: Anyone with the link can add files
- Off: Only you can upload
Password:
- Set a password recipients must enter to access
End-to-End Encryption (Pro)
When you create an encrypted link, your browser generates a key and encrypts files before upload. The key goes in the URL fragment (the part after #), which browsers never send to servers.
Result: FileGrab can’t see your files. Only someone with the complete URL can decrypt them.

Tips for Better Sharing
Name Files Clearly
“Project_Final_v2_approved.pdf” is better than “doc1.pdf”. Recipients will thank you.
Share the Link Early
Since it works before you upload, share it right away. Recipients can bookmark it or wait for files to appear.
Use Separate Links for Separate Topics
Don’t mix client projects in one link. Create dedicated links for each context.
Check Before Sending
Preview your link as a recipient would. Make sure everything looks right before sharing.
Common Questions
Can I add files to a link later? Yes, anytime before it expires.
Can I delete a file after uploading? Pro users can delete individual files. Free users wait for expiration.
Do recipients need accounts? No. Anyone with the link can view and download.
Can recipients upload files? By default, yes - links are collaborative. Pro users can disable this.
What happens when a link expires? Files are deleted from our servers. The link stops working.
