How does FileGrab work?
Sign in with your email (passwordless magic link), then create a link. Your shareable link is generated instantly — copy and share it right away. Upload files at your own pace, and recipients can open the link to watch files appear in real-time. Recipients don't need to sign in to view, download, or upload (if collaborative mode is enabled). What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes 2 GB storage, 2 GB per file, 2 active links, and 7 days link expiry. Pro starts at $10/month or $100/year with 10 GB storage, 100 active links, custom expiry, password protection, optional file-content encryption, and file management. Do recipients need an account to download or upload?
No! Recipients don't need to sign up, create an account, or log in to either download OR upload files. This frictionless experience is what sets FileGrab apart from other file sharing services — just share the link and go. Learn more about sharing files without accounts.
How long do my files stay available?
Free tier links expire after 7 days. Pro users can set custom expiry from 1 day to never-expiring (permanent links). See pricing for full tier details.
What's the maximum file size?
Free tier: 2 GB per file and 2 GB total storage. Pro tier: 2 GB per file, 10 GB total storage, with additional storage available. See pricing for full details.
Can multiple people upload to the same link?
Yes! Collaborative links allow anyone with the link to upload files. Pro users can toggle collaboration on/off per link.
Can I get notified when someone uploads?
Yes! Pro users can enable upload notifications and choose their preferred frequency: immediate, every 15 minutes, hourly, or a daily digest.
Can I see how many people viewed my link?
Yes. Pro users see total views, privacy-preserving unique-visitor counts, and download counts for each file. FileGrab uses one-way IP-derived hashes for link analytics. Raw IP addresses may still be processed or retained separately for authentication, fraud prevention, abuse reports, and infrastructure security as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Can I password-protect my links?
Yes, Pro users can add password protection to any link. Recipients will need to enter the password before viewing or downloading files.
Is my data secure?
FileGrab uses HTTPS for data in transit and service-provider controls for stored data. Pro users can optionally enable file-content encryption: supported files are encrypted in the browser before upload, and the decryption key remains in the complete share URL. This optional mode is separate from standard HTTPS protection. Read our encryption details and security policy.
What video formats can I preview?
FileGrab can play almost any video format directly in your browser — including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, and more. We automatically transcode videos for browser playback. Learn more about sharing media files.
Does FileGrab scan files for malware?
Eligible executable files are automatically submitted for malware scanning. Suspicious, detected, or reported content may be held and blocked while review is pending. Scanning reduces risk but cannot guarantee that every harmful file will be detected. Read more about our malware protection.
How do I delete my account?
Go to account settings (click your avatar) and select 'Delete Account'. You'll receive a confirmation email for security. After confirming, you have 7 days to cancel. After 7 days, your account and all data are permanently deleted.

Can I get a refund?
Yes, you can request a full refund within 3 days of starting your subscription. Contact support@filegrab.link for refund requests.
What payment methods do you accept?
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. The payment methods available to you are shown securely during checkout and can vary by device, browser, and region.
Are there ads on FileGrab?
No. FileGrab has no ads, no sponsored content, and no upsell popups. Free users get the same clean, ad-free experience as Pro users. We make money from Pro subscriptions, not advertising.
Can I preview files without downloading them?
Yes. FileGrab renders PDFs inline, plays audio with waveform visualization, streams video in most popular formats (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and more), and displays text files, XML, and HTML natively. Recipients can preview files directly in the browser. Learn more about sharing media files.
What is AI transcription?
Pro users can generate text transcripts from any audio or video file. The transcript appears alongside your media and can be searched, copied, or downloaded. Useful for meetings, interviews, lectures, podcasts, and any spoken content.
What are FileGrab Forms?
FileGrab Forms let you build drag-and-drop forms to collect structured data like RSVPs, feedback, or contact info. Free users get 3 forms with 100 submissions per month. Pro users get 100 forms with 10,000 submissions per month plus custom form URLs. You can embed forms on any website or share them via a direct link.
